Ready up your Apple tree Watch

Larn how to utilise your iPhone to set upward your new Apple Watch.

Before you brainstorm

Turn on your Apple tree Watch and put it on

Concord your Apple Watch close to your iPhone

Wait for the "Employ your iPhone to gear up this Apple Watch" message to appear on your iPhone, and so tap Continue. If you don't run into this message, open the Picket app on your iPhone, tap All Watches, then tap Pair New Watch.

If this is your Apple Sentry, tap Set Up for Myself. Or tap Set up for a Family Member, then follow the steps to ready the sentry for someone in your family.

Hold your iPhone over the blitheness

Center the watch face up in the viewfinder on your iPhone. Wait for a message to say that your Apple Scout is paired.

If you can't apply the photographic camera, or you don't run into the pairing blitheness or your iPhone tin't read it, tap Pair Apple tree Picket Manually, then follow the steps that appear.

Prepare upwards as new or restore from a fill-in

If this is your showtime Apple Sentinel, tap Set Upward as New Apple tree Watch. Otherwise, tap Restore from Backup. If asked, update your Apple Watch to the latest version of watchOS.

Your Apple Lookout might crave a software update before yous tin set it upwardly. If your iPhone says that a software update is available, tap Update Now and wait for the update process to stop.

Read the Terms and Conditions and tap Agree, then tap Agree again to go along.

Sign in with your Apple ID

If asked, enter your Apple ID countersign. If you aren't asked, yous can sign in afterwards from the Apple tree Sentinel app: Tap General > Apple ID, then sign in. Certain features that require a cellular telephone number won't work on cellular models of Apple tree Watch unless you sign in to iCloud.

If Find My isn't fix on your iPhone, you'll be asked to turn on Activation Lock. If you see an Activation Lock screen, your Apple Watch is already linked to an Apple ID. You need to enter the email address and password for that Apple ID to continue set upwardly. If your Apple Watch was previously endemic, you might need to contact the previous owner to remove Activation Lock.

Cull your settings

Your Apple Watch shows y'all which settings information technology shares with your iPhone. If you turned on features such as Find My, Location Services, Wi-Fi Calling, and Diagnostics for your iPhone, these settings automatically turn on for your Apple tree Watch.
